Project Overview

November 2023 Allclear Site Services began the technical task of demolishing a large area of 18^th century woollen mills, derelict former industrial premises of warehouse type structures along with Victorian-era red brick buildings covering an area of 275,057sq ft. On completion of all structural demolition apart from the building known as Studio 24, the breakout of all slabs and foundations began, processing all site won material into 6F2 for re use by the construction team on site. Various site works took place up until Janaury 2025 on this project, with us returning for multiple phases and extra tasks throughout, at the clients request.

Key Project Steps

Pre-Planning

• Asbestos Surveys: Conducted areas of licenced removal works along with large areas of asbestos corrugated cement roof sheets removed prior to structural demolition.

• Sequencing: Working alongside GMI structural engineer, Allclear Demolition established a methodical sequence of works to ensure smooth coordination of asbestos removal, soft stripping, and technical sequenced structural demolition.

  
  

  Internal Soft Strip:

• Following licensed asbestos removal teams, internal soft strip of fixtures and fittings, doors, windows and anything not structurally integral to the building were removed in preparation for the structural demolition

  
  

  Structural Demolition:

• Pre-planning and sequencing was vital prior to structural demolition throughout these works

• Equipment Utilization: 30-tonne and 20-tonne excavators with a variety of attachments for were utilised for efficient demolition.

Waste Management & Material Processing:

• Crushing Operations: Began in early March 2024, utilising Allclear Demolition’s fleet mobile jaw crusher to produce high-quality 6F2 aggregate.

• Reuse: Utilized 6F2 material to create a multi-level pile mat, confirmed by satisfactory earthworks fill reports and pile mat tests.

• Initial project schedule completed on time: On completion of planned works, Our client requested Allclear Site Services to return to the project for further structural dismantling tasks to be completed

• Exceptional Leadership: Demonstrated outstanding planning by Allclear Site Services senior staff, with excellent coordination, and communication throughout the project by Allclear Site Services site supervisors.

• Client Commendations: Our client highlighted exceptional management and site supervision throughout the project, proven with the request to return to site to plan, execute and continue previously unscheduled works.
